Wedding Itinerary

Saptapadi / Saat Phere / Seven Circumambulations

This would be an ideal time to arrive. This is the middle of the ceremony. The wedding vows take place during this time.

Kansar Bhojan and Reception

The breaking of the fast and first meal of the bride and groom together after marriage. A vegetarian Indian dinner will be provided at this time. This will be followed by dessert.

Arrival time for the wedding parties and final preparations of the wedding.

Dwaracharya

This is the beginning of the ceremony. Please arrive by this time if you’d like to experience and participate in the full event.

This is the end of the ceremony.

Vidaai

This is the end of the event. The bride is sent off and will leave with the groom to her new home.

The ceremony will take place under a canopy-like structure called a mandap. A Hindu priest will officiate the ceremony and numerous relatives will perform specific roles under his guidance.

The bride and groom will be seated in front of the priest for most of the ceremony. The priest will recite verses in Sanskrit, but will also provide English explanations of the rituals.

The wedding ceremony will be indoors.
